I never used one mostly cuz I always had apple care or apple care plus. And I'm careful. I learned my lesson though. My friend dropped my phone, and you know the rest. Suggestions for a minimalist protector? Apple seems to be pushing Tech 21, sold only at Apple.

Otter Alpha glass. Been using it for several years on several devices, looks and feels like the phones normal screen

Again, I don't place much stock in a protector to help in case of a fall, and I kinda think the majority don't either. I tend to think they're more of an anti-scratch safeguard. For drop protection, maybe a good case that has a lip over the screen, if you don't already use one?

I use the Apple leather case which only protects the back and affords no protection to the front. I'm not sure if it's available any more - I bought it with the phone. I bought it because it's minimalist and light and didn't hide the beauty of the phone, at least too much. I wasn't aware that screen protectors didn't protect against falls. I am not willing to get a bulky case. Part of the charm of the Xs, at least for me, is that it's somewhat compact and light. I had no case for my previous phones but the back seemed to get scratched a lot. My screen recently cracked and I don't want to have to pay a fortune again to replace it. But, I guess I'll have to take my chances.

My screen protector broke again, I always have a Spigen or Panzerglass because they have edge to edge, so you don't see that you are using one. But they break so quickly that I now doubt not to buy a protector anymore and have the screen replaced if it breaks after a while.
