Screen protector for the rMB?

Has anyone purchased screen protectors for their MacBooks? I never did, and never had the need to, until my screen got scratched up pretty badly just from the friction with the keyboard for rMBP. I then ended up getting something where when it's closed, I have a piece of cloth between the keyboard and the display.

Do you think something like this is necessary for the rMB 12''?...
