Hi all, I have a question about the performance of tempered glass screen protectors on the 13 Pro. Mine keeps losing adhesive on the right side of the screen, right under the camera. I attached a photo of what it looks like. This is the third one in a row now, tried two different brands, last one was bought off eBay from the UK. This never happened with the XR. Anybody else had this happen? I suppose it's the heat from the battery causing the adhesive to dry out, but I don't understand why this would happen with the 13 Pro and not with the XR.

No issues with the spigen one I have had since day 1…

Just make sure you follow the instructions, clean the screen, remove dust and don’t apply it in either a humid or a cold temperature.

If there’s a tiny spec of dust under the screen that might happen. I don’t think you’re applying it correctly. Been using standard glass screen protectors off amazon for a few years now, never had an issue.

Thanks guys, I'll try Belkin or Spigen then. I suppose it must be because the products are cheap, even though I've always used cheap screen protectors off eBay and never had this issue before.

I am, as I've been using tempered glass for years, applied them many times. Of course a speck of dust can remain underneath, that doesn't cause this. Also, two of the three SPs that had this problem were applied at the store by the sales clerk.

I have been using ESR Tempered glass protectors over the years and can definitely vouch for them. Give them a go.

If it happens repeatedly in the same spot, the surface of the screen may not be flat.
There may be a low spot where the separation occurs.

I think this is it. After posting my last reply, MR showed me a thread where a user's 13PM had the TGSP peel off in the same area four times in a row. So I think it's the same thing, uneven flatness, probably not perceptible to the naked eye, but it's there nonetheless and it's just enough for air to get under the tempered glass.

I will first go through the few screen protectors I have left, to see if maybe just maybe one of them doesn't peel off. If I go through all of them without success, which is very likely, I'm buying the brands mentioned in this thread. Higher quality will mean the TGSP will stick to the screen better so hopefully that's enough.

Some may be more flexible than others, therefore more likely to "stay stuck".

Same issue here. I tried several glasses. Same problem. Reason: sweat. Since I changed to headphone calls or with speakers, problem is solved. People are sweating differently, some more, some less.

I think it comes down to:

1. Quality of the screen protector. Buy a cheap off-brand screen protector and you get cheap off-brand results.
2. Quality of the installation. I have a new screen protector installed by Apple in a store. They use a specialized jig to ensure exact placement. Results have always been ideal for me.

I simply cannot abide any marks or scratches on my screen. Makes me crazy! So spending $40 on an Apple-sold and installed screen protector vs. $15 or $20 on a cheap, self-installed one makes sense to me. Especially on a phone for which I paid $800 or more. That math doesn't math.

Maybe.
I bought a set of 3 iCarez screen protectors 13 months ago.
Installed 1 (still on the phone - no problems at all), still have the other 2.
Paid $4.95 for the 3 on Amazon, on the recommendation of several people here at the forum.
That math maths.
;)

I can confirm this is completely accurate for me. I got the otter box screen protector from the Apple Store and they applied for me. As soon as I started using my iPhone for calls without using the speaker phone or headphones, the screen protector started to peel the next day. Like you said its the sweat when we put it next to our face, etc. Thanks for your insight.

I have used this brand in the past without any issues. I switch between them, ESR and Amfilm and haven’t been disappointed. The only time my screen protector starts lifting is when I’ve dropped the phone or bumped against something and the protector cracks.
