Screen Protector Question (with water)

Those of you with screen protectors on your 7/7+. How does the screen protector handle if you get water on the phone, or it gets dropped in water (as its water resistance)? Curious as to if I will get one this year, or go without on, as I hear the display is more scratch resistance than in the past.

Also, anyone have any experience with either screen protector // Apple iPhone 7 Plus Tech21 EVO Glass Screen Protector or Apple iPhone 7 Plus PureGear Tempered Glass Screen Protector
