Is it neccessary to have a screen protector if I already have a case? I don't want to ruin the retina display with a screen protector.

i've always used a screen protector. If you get a quality one you won't notice it's even on

Agreed. I always use a Power-Support Anti-Glare. Although it takes away some quality of the screen the Anti-Glare works wonders.

OP: You can always get a Power-Support Crystal, you can hardly tell its there. If anything it makes the screen more vibrant in my opinion.

Are the screen protector that come with the Otterbox commuter cases good or should I get a better one?

The otterbox communter basically has a screen protector built into the case.

There is no sense in doubling down on a screen protector unless you plan on taking it out of the case and you want the screen protected when its out of the case.

Its redundant...

Its like putting a condom on a condom.
