It’s going to be incredibly hard to demonstrate with reviews and demos to people, friends or family.

Not to mention, I wanna see what my family would see when I show this tech they can’t even fathom. I don’t want them stumbling into my browser history and photo library. Or if I show it to my wife that she doesn’t get into my messages, it gives anxiety not being able to see.

Apparently Apple employees carried iPads to watch the people testing out the headset at Apple Park.

I’m just worried Optic ID will be locked and they can’t use it at all.

Hopefully they have these features:
  1. Screen recording
  2. AirPlay mirror akin to Apple Watch mirror to iPhone
  3. Allow guests to try out the headset by going to guest mode with Optic ID

Everything that Apple has shown suggests Vision Pro is meant for individual use. Just like iPad and iPhone, Apple wants everyone to buy one, not share.

You're probably right but I do hope there's a way for family/friends to demo someone else's headset at the very least.

However, take a look at this screenshot of visionOS's settings sidebar (from a WWDC visionOS dev video). There's a menu button at the bottom called "People", something I've never seen before. Could be their term for multi user support? Maybe for managing something else.. I don't know

I hope they have a sharing option. $3500 is bad enough for one person. Not everyone can afford to spend $3500 for each member of their family. Besides, how is Apple going to demo these in their stores? Do they expect everyone to set up an account first?

I guess one nice thing is that it will be harder for thieves to steal the unlock PIN, at least as long as you type with your eyes instead of with direct touch.

But if it has a guest mode, does the guest have to do the eye and hand tracking calibration each time they use it?

Guest mode requires setting up eye tracking during every new session.

It wouldn’t be Apple if this can’t record screen. Think about all the publicity Apple can get. Money can’t buy that.

Amateurish guess is you will be able to say “screen record this” & it will record (or simply launch screen record app with your fingers). Then you’ll be able to airdrop it to your Mac.
Or you might even be able to just snap your fingers to record. Who knows .. 😄
