Hi everyone. Despite using Mac Rumours often for advice, it is the first time that I am posting, as for the first time, I am unable to find the answer to my Mac-related question on this site.

Since the latest OS update and supplementary update, 'Screen Recording' has disappeared from the list in Security & Privacy Settings for a few of my students (my Mac is fine). I have searched for hours online to see how they might fix this, as they need to have screen recording enabled for an exam that they will be taking this month, which uses a proctoring programme. Has the Screen Recording option disappeared from the list in Security & Privacy Settings for any of you? If so, have you managed to fix it? Thanks in advance to those of you who start thinking about how to fix it. :)

(I know that someone has already asked/posted a similar question about the Screen Recording option no longer appearing in the privacy settings, but they have an older OS version installed on their Mac.)

I am on 10.15.5 with the latest supplementary and I do have Screen recording in Privacy tab. Nearly at the end of all options. I am not sure what to say if it is missing, but it is not normal.
May be try to use some recording software and see, if it asks for permissions and if this option appears. May be it needs to be requested by at least one application to be shown? You can simply use zoom, BlueJeans or some screen recording software and see if it works.
If this does not work, I would : 1. reboot (yeah, the gold standard) and if that does not help, 2. I would reinstall MacOS in place. May be something did not install right. Step 3 would be call to Apple ;-)
