Screen recording not showing in Privacy settings

Mac OS High Sierra on an external USB3 SSD. Need to be able to share my screen in Microsoft Teams. Normally, I'd have to go to Privacy settings and authorize Teams in the Screen Recording tab.
Only... the Screen Recording Tab (or even Microphone) is not showing in the Privacy settings.

What could be wrong ?

I will be very interested if someone comes back with the fix for this! Although I am not facing this issue with the latest update myself, a lot of my students are. The worrying thing for them is that they will be taking an exam later this month, which requires using proctoring software that requires screen sharing. I have searched online for the past couple of days and I have still not come across an answer. Surely Apple are aware of it?!
