screen recording with quick time - massive file size

ive been playing around with the screen recording feature, its preety cool but the file sizes are way to big for a 24 second screen capture the file size was 115 mb!!!!!!
what the hell are you supposed to do with that
say if you want to email a short clip to someone or even upload it, no way with this size of file, anyone else played with this ??

i did another one which was 51 seconds long and it was only 15mb??
