Is there a program out there that will watch my screen and record what it is into some video file and then i can mess with that in imovie or something like that. My goal is to be able to make a photoshop tutorial for a friend that is in a different part of the country.

I believe ScreenFlow is what you are looking for. I don't know the link I used it to download, but I am sure if you Google it you will be able to find.
