I have a MacBook Pro 2.4 base model and ordered one of the $1799 deals on a previous generation 17" MacBook Pro with the High resolution Screen. The 17" is a matte and the 15" is a glossy. The 15" is LED the 17" Not LED. My question is this. The text on the high resolution screen looks clearer to me than on the 15". I mean it is really sharp.(though smaller) Is that because of the increased resolution? Thanks for the help.

As long as you have the screen at native resolution, they will both be sharp. The text may appear sharper on the 17" due to the pixels being smaller, but at native resolution both will look sharp:cool:

It looks sharper because the pixels are smaller and the anti-alias of the font is less noticeable. Anti-aliasing makes things smoother.
