If I change the setting under 'Display preferences', 'Rotate' to something other than 'Standard' (e.g. '270deg') in order to get a portrait mode display (LCD can be turned), the overall system performance collapses. It seems to be particularly the 'WindowServer' process using a lot of CPU resources (up to 70%).
System is a MAC Mini G4, 1GB RAM, MAC OS X 10.4.8.
I read reports in the web from other users reporting the same problem, even on older MAC versions and other Mac systems (e.g. http://www.macintouch.com/readerreports/displays/topic2139.html).
Can anyone shed some light on this matter and maybe even have a solution, or could someone feedback to Apple in order to initiate a fix?
Thanx,
