So there's a nifty but long-abandoned piece of software called "MacPortrait"* that allows rotating the display output on System 7.1 and up.

Problem is, I can't find the last version 6.2.5 - a site which used to have it has been archived but the file itself (macportrait625.hqx) unfortunately has not: [https://web.archive.org/web/20060513195424/http://mywebpages.comcast.net/macdan/files/index.html]

MacPortrait v6.0 has been archived: [https://web.archive.org/web/20070218155833/http://www.adi.nl/nl/support/olddrivers.html]

Does anyone happen to have this? That would be insanely great :)

*There is also "WinPortrait" for Windows.

Well, what can I say, it works fine:

The problem is that turning the TiBook on its side blocks one of the exhausts so one would need to come up with a stand that leaves the right exhaust unobstructed.

To make things more interesting, I decided to add my VTBook to the mix:

The left LCD is 1600×1200 and driven by the VTBook, the right LCD is 1024×1280 (i.e. rotated) and driven by the TiBook's Radeon 7500. The TiBook's 1280×854 screen is also running, of course.

(Fuzzyness due to camera.)

MacPortrait will only rotate one - the primary - screen. It also has a 1024×1280 resolution limit (that can be patched away though). Furthermore, I noticed I can't set the rotated screen to 256 greys anymore to more accurately replicate a Portrait Display setup ;)
