When Monterey first was introduced, it initially eliminated the ability to use Photos as a screen saver. That eventually was "fixed"; at least I was able to get it to work using the People file in screen saver. I am now up to Monterey 12.3.1. Noticed some time ago that the images coming up on screen saver were sideways. Just now I noticed that some are sideways and some are inverted. Went to System Preferences to double-check my settings, and they are floating, people, and shuffle. They are floating, they do shuffle, there are images coming up that are not in people (but are real people). Now I am wondering what happened. When are the images getting turned? Is the people file really selected if there are images of people on the screen saver that are not shown in the People option of Photos? Anyone have any ideas?

I would try exporting the problem photos w/out edits, editing them to proper orientation in preview and re-importing them into photos. It may be an issue with "non-destructive" edits not being honored for some reason.
