I have a very odd issue since updating to El Capitan and can't find anything online about it, so I'm wondering if this is just me or if anyone else has had this issue.

About every 2-3 weeks, when I attempt to log in to my computer (I stay logged in, the screen saver is running) it does not accept my password. If I try to reboot the computer from the login screen, it tells me that my username is invalid. If I try to SSH in from another computer (I am using public key authentication, so I don't even have to enter my password in this case) it disconnects immediately. The only way I can get back in is to hold down the power button and reboot - after which I am able to get in again. Then a couple of weeks later it seems it is wash, rinse, and repeat.

I'm on an older iMac (late 2009) but aside from this issue I really don't have any problems in El Capitan. But I hate doing the hard reboot. Has anyone else experienced this issue and possibly found a solution for it?
