Screen Sharing/ARD not working properly

I've got a strange problem with screen sharing. It works fine, until I sleep my Mac Mini. I then go to wake it with Wake-on-Lan, and screen sharing no longer works.

I have to go upstairs and turn screen sharing off and on again with the GUI. I've tried turning screen sharing off and on with SSH and terminal, but that doesn't work.

The same thing happens if I use Remote Management or a VNC server like Vine. Bizarre. Both machines are up to date with 10.5.8, and I've done a fresh install on the mini, to no avail.

Any suggestions?
