screen sharing - "authentication failed"

I can no longer screen share with another OS X 10.5.4 machine on my network. I get an "authentication failed" error. I think the problem started after I changed the remote machine's computer name. I tried changing it back without success. Anyone have any ideas? Are there any plist's or certificates I should try deleting? Thanks.
