So I've been having this problem with my base model late 2014 Mac Mini used as a home media/file server for a while now and I haven't been able to figure it out. I was hoping someone here could help me.
I use screen sharing from my mid 2015 high end rMBP to the media server to remotely manage it. The issue is that the screen sharing keeps cutting in and out for seconds at a time. It's kind of hard to explain, but if you see the video below, you'll know what I'm talking about. At first I thought it was an issue with my external SSD, so I cloned it onto the internal drive and the issue still persists.
Both the mini and my laptop are connected via gigabit ethernet, so there should be no bottleneck there. A complete restore isn't really an option, so any possible solutions would be very much appreciated. Both are running Yosemite 10.10.5.
