Screen Sharing Mac to Windows

Not sure if this is the right sub forum.

I would like use my iMac's Safari and Apple Mail on my new Alienware gaming PC by using Apple's Screen Sharing or VNC or RDP. I've tried Mac to Mac Screen Sharing using the same cat6 cables and router with no lag, but when I try Mac to PC (I'm trying Real VNC Viewer on the PC end) I get a ton of lag. What would be the best no lag way to access my iMac's desktop on Windows?

RDP works, if you'r on the same subnet, but I think the easiest solution is using TeamViewer. Its the only free remote control application out there at this point.
