Hi there,
this is my setup:
Mac Mini connected to the router via Ethernet
Macbook Pro connected via WIFI
Both running OS X 10.6.8
File transfers etc. work flawlessly however Screen Sharing (I use the Mac Mini as server and often want to control it via the Macbook) only works if the Macbook is connected to the router via Ethernet, then I can just click on the Mac Mini in Finder, "Share Screen..."-button and I'm in. However when the Macbook is on WIFI, it just gives me the "Connecting to " window forever. Also, I have set up DynDNS on the MacMini so I can login to the MacMini remotely through the internet. I can ping to the Mac Mini perfectly, even display websites that it hosts, but Screen Sharing doesn't work.
Interestingly, connecting using Chicken of the VNC works, but it's quite terrible in terms of usability. But I can login over WIFI or the internet (DynDNS).
I think it might be the router's fault, but I don't see why Chicken of the VNC would work and Screen Sharing wouldn't. Any suggestions?
