Hello

I am in the UK and trying to screen share with my friend in the UAE.

We can send each other invites to screen share and we can both click the accept button, but the connection never takes place.

We are both running High Sierra. One on a MacBook Air and one on an iMac.

When I was in the UAE and we were in the same room and tested it and it worked fine.

I can also Screen Share without a problem with other people in the UK.

We both have Screen Sharing enabled in Sharing Preferences.

Both have our iCloud/Apple IDs working and authorised in Messages.

In the Screen Sharing App itself we have enabled "Allow screen sharing requests from everyone"

We have tried both with and without a VPN active in case it might be a location block in the UAE

We have tried turning off the Mac Firewall.

I can only think that there is some sort of block going on in the UAE much like they do with FaceTime etc.

I have thought that maybe his service-provider-supplied router might need a port forwarding or similar but I don't know which port to forward to try this. Saying that, seeing as the screen sharing worked fine when I was in the UAE (albeit in the same room and on the same network) would that mean that the internet service isn't blocking the screen sharing protocol?

Any help much appreciated.
