Is there a way to take a screen shot of a small area on the ipad?

Specifically I want to be able to take a picture of individual app logos on my ipad and include them into a word doc or possibly Powerpoint or keynote. I want to create a list of appropriate apps for a group of our teachers.

Maybe the crop feature in iPhoto for iPad...

No there is not. I suggest you set up white background and crop the full size screenshots on the computer for each app.
