Screen Shots to Clipboard - Paste to Mail Bug?

Control Shift Command 4 copies a picture of screen selection to the clipboard. The command works to paste the picture in any program except Mail. Paste does nothing. Is this a bug in Mail? Can someone else try this. Using SL on MacBook Pro.

works fine for me in SL. are you sure you are selecting a part of the screen to copy to the clipboard? ctrl-cmd-shift-4 gives a crosshair to take a shot of part of the screen while ctrl-cmd-shift-3 takes the whole screen.

Doesn't work for me

I have been using the command for years, but now it doesn't work. If I switch to another program, the clipboard pastes the picture, but not in Mail.
