This is exciting! I have decided on the iMac G5 to be my first Mac, and by the looks of it, it may be a birthday gift (october)!

But some questions on that Screen Spanning Hack:

1) Is it 100% reversable? Like, if installed, can I remove it?
2) Will it void warranty?
3) Is it compatible with the Rev. B iMac G5s?
4) Does anyone here use it and have any comments?

Thanks!

Yes, it is 100% reversible. The applescript that does it comes with a "disable spanning" function as well.

I strongly doubt that it voids the warranty, but I can't confirm that.

I assume it's compatible with Rev. B iMacs, but I use a Rev A with it so also can't confirm.

It works great, just like dual monitors should. No complaints here.

It's basically the exact same thing as the hack for the iBooks.

All it is is a tiny change to the firmware to de-cripple the card.

If you have a problem with the iMac and send it back to Apple with the hack still installed, they may give it as a reason they refuse to fix it, but if you undo the hack, there should be no way they can even know you installed it.

The Rev. B is very different from the Rev. A in terms of video, and that is what this card does. Can anyone with a Rev. B confirm that this works on their iMacs?
