iPhone 13 Pro Screen tap to open does not work

Well, this morning I tried to tap on my screen to open my phone and low and behold it does not work. I had to press the side button to turn it on. No matter how many times I’ve tried it doesn’t work. Before calling Apple has anyone else had this issue? All the other tap functions while on screen do function properly.

OK, I did a reset and now all is well.

I experienced the same problem with my 13 Pro Max and it just happened a second time. Hopefully it's not a defect.
