Hi All

I really hope someone can help me.

  1. I have a huge issue with a particular gaming app and i cant stop using it . I have screen time enforced on my phone with a friends apple ID & password to disallow app installation and account changes.
  2. This works perfectly for me but i have the option of resetting the phone to remove the screen time (either by plugging it into my mac (if find my iphone is not enabled) or by erasing the device using "find my iphone" (if it is enabled).
  3. I tried to change the 2 factor authentication even on my apple id to remove my access to find my iphone - however this only buys me 3 days as I just request apple to let me change this back ( i know this is not wise to do anyway)
  4. I also contacted the app and asked to be blocked from the app but the device block gets reset when I reset the phone so that doesn't last
  5. I downgraded to a Nokia 8110 but Watsapp was too slow and buggy on it. I still want the benefits of the iphone 12 but just without 1 particular app
Is there any other technical way that people know that i could effectively permanently prevent access to a particular app?
  • Any parental control software or paid apps that work for this purpose and cant be removed / manipulated?
  • Anything i am doing wrong within screen time or another setting I could set to prevent the phone from being reset?
  • any other way to prevent a phone from being reset (e.g putting some really important info on the phone which i couldn't afford to lose)
  • Write specifically to apple to ask them to not allow my apple id to download the specific app?

I really appreciate any technical suggestions in this regard. Please just send on technology based solutions rather than suggesting therapy etc (which i am already pursuing) or getting a dumb phone (which i have already tried). I would have thought there should be some form of "locked mode" on screen time to prevent workarounds but it doesnt appear to be the case.
