Since upgrading all the devices to the latest versions, when my daughter sends a screen time request from one of her devices for more time for one of the restricted apps, the approvals from my wife and my Apple Watch no longer work. We are forced to approve her time on Mac or iPhone. This is huge inconvenience, as before the upgrades, we were able to do that just fine. Also we noticed that all the screen time requests get pilled up in message conversation unlike before where they were its own thing - very poor design and broken now it seems.

I am glad I am not the only one with this issue. I also submitted my feedback about this issue - it is too ridiculous for a feature that worked just fine for few years all of sudden it completely broken 
Same issue here. It’s so annoying I have to approve on my phone again, really sick of Apple stuff not working anymore. My predictive contacts aren’t working and now this, their quality has really fallen off.
So you are able to successfully grant more screen time via Apple Watch? Are the Screen Time requests coming in as iMessages on your watch or the purple screen time notification style?
I get the normal purple screen time notification, after which I can select 15min, 1 hour, etc
Both latest versions. Phone on 16.1.1. Watch on 9.1
Only issue I have, and have had since iOS15, is when granting extra time via the phone it takes a while to load up etc - hence why I always use the notification when it pops up on my watch.
