Screen time

Okay when I flip my wrist to look at the time or when I get a message on my watch, the screen goes black way to quickly. Instead of those few seconds, is there anyway to change the settings so that I can see the message/image on the watch for longer than mere seconds?

These already a recent thread about this somewhere, but the short answer is no. However you can tap the screen to activate it instead of raising your wrist and then the screen will stay on quite a bit longer.
