I usually keep my Macbook Pro 15" (early 2015) connected to two Dell 23" 4K displays. I have it set up this way:
-Macbook Pro in Clamshell mode (closed)
-Thunderbolt cable to CalDigit TB dock
-thunderbolt out to one display's mini display port
-HDMI out to the second display
When I need to take my computer I will eject any disks then unplug the TB cable and power. However when I open the computer it will wake, but the screen does not do anything. If I connect to an external video source it will work just fine. I can even use the computer "blind": log in, open itunes, play music, etc using keyboard shortcuts so I know the computer is working and not hanging.
What am I doing wrong or what do I need to change in my setup?
