Purchased this for the primary computer, so that only one cable needs to be connected to it.
Problem with this is, that very often the screens will blank out, and they usually come back shortly after but not always.
A way to fix temporarily is to disconnect the cable, or turn off the power adapter for this hub.
In limited testing where the 16-inch is connected to the HDMI switcher using USBC to HDMI, I'm not experiencing the displays blanking out.
Looking for recommendations for a hub that will do this:
1. Provide power to 16-inch MBP
2. Pass through audio to headphone adapter
3. Drive two external displays via HDMI, and no need for software. Want native support for no problems with DRM
4. have several USB ports for peripherals
I have two Acer 32" ET322QU monitors and I'm battling with displays blanking out / going to sleep.
For quite some time I was using a "manual" switcher where I would have the monitors connected to a HDMI extension, connected to a HDMI keystone jack, from there would connect to whichever computer I was using.
Currently I'm using a 2021 MacBook Pro 16-inch M1max as the primary machine.
I will also use the same displays from time to time to run an Apple TV.
Also, will connect my work computer 2021 MacBook Pro 14-inch M1max.
I recently switched to all new cables purchased from Amazon, where now I have two 1-3 HDMI switches:
