Screensaver coming on as soon as I power on my laptop

I don't know where this has come from but after shutting down my Mid-2010 model MBP last night, I put it on this morning and the first thing that came up was the screensaver. After pressing escape a few times, it finally left the screen and my desktop showed. About every 2 minutes later, it tries to come back on, even if I am working on the computer, not even leaving it unattended, so this is strange.

Can anyone help?
