My photos on the screensaver are blurry. Stumped to why. Details:
* I have a 2017 iMac with Monterey
* The photos are on an external SSD which speedtests indicate a 200mbps read speed.
* All photos are high resolution
* The first photo that displays in the screensaver loads after a moment. That one starts blurry for a moment, then loads fine. The rest load blurry.

chiming in to see if anyone has an idea on how to fix. tried searching the  forums but the replies are not helpful.

Similar to above, sorta
Mac OS Ventura. 5k studio display. have the screensaver set to use photos from a folder of 6k images. when the screensaver starts, both the studio display and the 14" mbp images are super blurry, like if you were trying to look at a 1024x768 image on a 5k display. however, again, these images are 6016 pixel images. so something is going on when the screensaver engine loads the images to shuffle from the folder.

any tips?
