Screensaver Issue

I like to use the Computer Name option for my screensaver. Since I updated to 10.5.5 there is this (2) after my name. I tried to go into options to change it but I am unable to, it is grayed out.

Any ideas on how to get rid of the (2)?

Wow. i just checked mine (after update to 10.5.5) and nothing changed. Do you maybe now have 2 titled "Computer Name" - one with the 2 and one without? Strange - and I'm useless on this one.

Check on Prefs-> Sharing and see on the top what's your computer name.

Ok, I did that and took the (2) off of my name and then clicked the lock to prevent further changes. I have no clue how that even happened. I have an iMac in my daughter's room, perhaps somehow that got involved into the mix.

Glad i could help.

Also try fixing permissions because i guess that happened with 10.5.5 and something was messed up!

A repair permission (disk utility@utilities folder) will fix any problems!
