I have an iMac set to auto-wake in the middle of the night (to record some radio shows via Radioshift); I also have a bluetooth mouse... so when the iMac starts up it can't connect to the mouse (because there's no-one there to push the button on it)...

Anyway the problem is that because the computer flashes an error message about the mouse, for some reason it won't let the display sleep and the screensaver kicks in instead (even though the display is set to sleep before the screensaver).

My question: can I somehow make the display sleep when it autowakes and can't find a mouse? Having such a bright light in the middle of the night is a bit distracting to say the least, not to mention the wasted energy...?

Or is my only answer to connect a hard-wired mouse at nights...?
