Screensaver taxing CPU

I finally bit the bullet and updated to Big Sur (11.1) on my '16 MBP. An old problem reared its ugly head. All of the screensavers seem to cause the fan to spin up. I had this problem with the Arabesque screensaver on some previous version of macOS, but the others were fine. Now, no matter what screensaver I choose, they tax the computer to the point of needing the fan. Wtf. Why?!
