First poster here...

I'm using Fliqlo, a clock screen saver.

Free download for 10.6 here: http://www.9031.com/downloads/screensavers.html

I'm wondering if this will cause any damage to my screen?

Some pixels won't change for a whole hour!?

Is this something we shouldn't be worried about these days...?

Thanks for help

BTW i'm using an iMac 24"

---sorry if this is in the wrong forum, i guess it's software----

There is nothing to "save" unless you have an old CRT monitor. LCD monitors don't suffer from "burn in" that the old CRT's used to get. If you left an image on the screen for days or weeks, it would always be there as a "ghost" on top of anything else you were looking at.

You don't need a screen saver. Today screen savers are merely eye candy and entertainment. If you have one that is leaving a portion of the screen unchanged and it bothers you, why not set your monitor settings to sleep after an hour? That's what I do. I use the photos screen saver but I have my monitor go to sleep after 45 minutes or so.

Hi R0k

That was what I thought I just needed confirmation from you guys.

Not bothered about a boring screensaver staying still. I quite like the fliqlo one.

I just wanted to ensure I wouldn't do my mac any damage

thanks man
