ScreenShot on Lion (New Mac User)

I know how to take screen shot with hot keys. Where can I locate it on menu. I can find on the finder but its not always at top of page. Also, where are my screen shots being saved???????? If I'm not posting in correct place please forgive me and show me where to proceed. Thanks Mitch

Shift+Command+3 gets you a full screen shot saved to the desktop and Shift+Command+4 gets you cross hairs to select the part of the screen to screen capture (click and then drag to highlight section to be copied) saved to the desktop also.
