I've tried removing com.apple.screencapture.plist and restarting. Did not work. A few weeks ago I reinstalled my OS for another issue (Sequoia 15.5 and now .6) on a M2 Mac Mini Pro. Screenshot recording were quitting then too. So it appears not to be an OS issue.

Not finding any other helpful videos, posts here or anything on Google.

I've been so disappointed overall in the quality of the OS since going with my M2 Mini about 18 months ago. It's much more unreliable and buggy coming from my 2015 iMac.

Hi @Slartibart thanks for this idea! I tried it as different user. It did not quit in my 7-8 mins of testing. Makes sense the problem came back even after the new OS. Wonder what could be corrupted or bad in my user account?

Does this problem persists under a different - new - user?

some corrupted preferences or interferences from another app or its preferences or modifications it did to preferences… or just the screen record settings - as a guess 😃

As a start you should check the screen recording settings in the system settings.

Cautiously optimistic this is solved. I was saving my screenshots to an external NVME. Changing the save location back to the internal SSD and it's recording fine so far.

Spoke too soon. I was able to record a 5-minute screen recording and save it. The next recording dumps 10 seconds after I hit record.
