The drop shadow behind an active window is slightly more pronounced in Leopard than in Tiger.

Is there anyway to take a screen shot without having it include the drop shadows as apart of the png image? I'm really hoping I don't need to go back and photoshop them out. I've already forgotten if Tiger had this shadow effect...

Drop shadow free screenshots:

Try this -

command +shift + 4, then press the space bar and the cross hairs will change into a camera icon, now click any open window with the camera and it will take a screenshot of just that window sans drop shadow.

hope that helps.

That's what I've been using since Tiger. However it doesn't work. Leopard includes the obscene drop shadows in the screen.
