UPS, for the 2nd year in a row you have botched my iPhone delivery. No doorbell, no door knock, nothing.... just a crappy little UPS InfoNotice. Now I gotta go to the Distribution Center for pickup.

Has anyone else experienced this?!

You're saying that they left a notice on your door without knocking? Maybe you just didn't hear it. I would imagine filling out that little form is much more annoying for the UPS guy than just knocking on the door...

Ya I hate UPS. I would rather pay an extra 17 dollars for shipping from fedex then deal with UPS.

Obviously, you were the one who was screwed since you didn't answer the door when you were taking a crap.

Agreed. Also, cut them a little slack on iPhone day. Remember they are people too that will probably spend at least another 2 hours on their route to try to get everyone their iPhones. Think about the days you end up with a special project that requires you to stay late and how you hate that...

I wouldn't be upset if it didn't happen two years in a row. (and by the way, i was watching low-volume tv right by the front door, not taking a crap).

Maybe your doorbell is messed up? You can also pre-sign for the shipment and leave that on the door so they would have left it. Alternatively, you can have it delivered to work or someone else's address that can pick it up for you. The third option is to have them hold it at the distribution center to begin with and just pick it up in the morning.

Personally, I am in an area where UPS deliveries are unpredictable in timing and my doorbell is unreliable at best, so I had it delivered to my UPS Store mailbox and just picked it up. The upside was since its a business address it got there early in the morning. I also don't have to take the whole day off to wait for the UPS man as they will sign for the package and I can pick it up at my leisure (the store is by my house, versus the distribution center miles away).

My UPS guy is awesome. Like clock work he will be at my house at noon. He will open my screen door and leave all my stuff on the indoor porch.

They did that to me once, no knock, no doorbell, NOTHING and all of the sudden I looked at the shipment online and the update said there was no one home... Hmm WHAT!?

I called them and made them make the driver turn around and bring my package.

I didn't get screwed by UPS this year (luckily), but I have been screwed by them many, many times. I completely believe the OP. Countless times UPS has not even attempted to enter my building, They just leave the note on the door. My brother is driving over to their distribution center tonight to pick up his iPhone because that's exactly what they did to him.

UPS has done this to me probably a good half dozen times over the years (granted, not with iPhones). In fact, I've WATCHED the UPS guy run up to my door and slap the yellow sticker on the door and run off.

Think about how busy these guys are. They're frequently out trying to finish up their routes at 9-10 PM (trust me, I know, I live a few miles from the major Dallas area UPS hub and, annoyingly, my neighborhood is LAST on the route as the trucks return back to the hub. It's actually rare for me to get a UPS delivery before 8 PM). Anyway, think how much time these guys can shave off in a day by just screwing over a handful of people a day with the yellow sticker crap. I have no doubt in my mind that's their motivation.

I've had the same issues, but with FedEx. They are the absolute worst. One time, when waiting for an important package, I even left the front door open 1/2 way with an 8 1/2x11 sign in huge print saying "FedEx Driver I AM HOME PLEASE KNOCK". Had my back to the door. By shear coincidence I got up and was walking by and noticed the door had moved. What was on it? Failed delivery attempt. I ran out just as he was getting in his truck. Told me he knocked (he didn't). Said he didn't see the sign (his note was on top of it). The worst.

I have to post a sign on the door when I'm expecting a delivery from UPS to KNOCK PLEASE, because they will usually just put on the little tag and leave. I did that today and she knocked and loud :)

I admire your courage.

Like Apple, UPS is monitoring the forum for customers experiences.

Once they've read your post, you may learn what a _really long_ wait is :)

All I can say is Good Luck...

Screwed me over... says they attempted delivery 30 minutes ago "customer was not available on 1st attempt."

Except that I've been here since 1pm and live on a street with only 3 houses so I know when I vehicle comes or goes.

No truck, No delivery guy, No sticky on the door, nothing. And UPS website says Customer not available on 1st attempt.

UPS, you sit on a throne of LIES!

Not surprised. Had a laptop getting delivered last week by ups. The guy didn't bring the package, just the little sticker.

Went to the center that night. Talked to the manager, said it was me, didn't hear the knock, etc. The driver was actually still there, said the same thing.

Pulled out my iPad, loaded the video showing what he did, as I have 360 degrees of security cameras around the house. Driver practically **** himself right there. I actually learned some new cuss outs as the manager lit into the guy.

Not all ups guys are like this, just a fun story.

The same happened to me. Waited a freaking hour to get my iPhone.

Fedex did this to me...

I drove all the way to their service center and parked my car right in front of their truck. I blocked their truck until they released my iPhone to me.

Is anyone else still waiting for a delivery attempt? Can't imagine they are still out delivering at 10:51pm... I got mine but my wife's still says "Out for Delivery"... Just wondering if it's lost in the bottom of a truck somewhere, or back at the hub waiting to be scanned and rescheduled for Monday, or what...

Clearly the ups man is scared of peole

Yes, I read somewhere that UPS guys sit in their truck and fill out slips and then quietly sneak up to the door and leave the notice. They get paid to bring packages back to the hub.

Yep, that's what happened.

Yeah still waiting here in Michigan, guess it's my turn this year. Waited in line for the first iPhone and the 3GS, preordered this and the other 3, and had the other 3 delivered by 10AM, not this year.....
