I just restored my 1.1.1 iPod with 1.1.4 then followed the pwnage tutorial from this forum and it looked like it was all going well until I found out that whenever I go in to Installer.app it would completley freeze up, I need do a hard reboot (home button+sleep button) and the same thing happens when I exit Safari or do stuff in Contacts, I am sure there is more but I havent messed with it too much.

Anyone help?

Thanks in advance!

I used the windows version of pwnagetool and had the same problem I had to restore with the custom firmware again till it stopped being a boob.

what where the steps you took when pwning?

I know this sounds like a silly thing but I just remembered something that solved mine (well I say solved I never noticed the freeze after I did it this way), restore the ipod to official firmware using the home and sleep buttons to bung into restore mode (whilst plugged into usb port), then when restored, get ziphone or iLiberty and get either of them to stick the iPod into recovery mode then open pwnagetool and ipwner with it already in recovery mode.

Seems daft but I done it this way and well I haven't had freeze up since.

Just restored, done a Installer update and it happened again! Its gone and screwed up again!

well, that turned me off of pwnagetool

how many times have you had to restore now?

I have restored like 5 times and I restored to the original Apple firmware then went through the whole pwning process all over again and still the same problems!

Im gonna use iLiberty+ now, instead, I'll tell ya how that goes.

Just iLiberty+'ed it running 1.1.3 and still the same thing!

Anymore help, guys?

You could wait around and see what the app store has to offer. you may not need a hacked ipod touch, but thats just me. I don't like messing up expensive toys, restoring them, and then just doing the same thing and have it be messed up still.

Hmm... Well I restored it back to normal and its working just fine, now! I am syncing my music as I type, I might just get a new 3G iPhone when they come out and pass the iPod on to my mum, anyway, and she wont want it to be jailbroken anywho.

sounds like a good idea to me, as long as you can pay for the iphone service. I am also waiting for v2 iphone's to be released to decide whether or not to get one. But I am betting we will be surprised by the amount of cool things we can get from the apps store. Super Monkey Ball=awesome.

Well im hoping it will be available on PAYG, if not I will just have to go and jailbreak that then wont I? :p

Also, I think apple will charge to put the App Store on the iPod touch. :(

Well, you are speculating the app store will cost you, but I'm speculating it will be free because they will want you to be able to buy the apps from the stores...the answer to your question is, wait.:)

I was having trouble jailbreaking with the latest version of ziphone using a Mac until I rebooted by Mac after installing ziphone.

Who knows, maybe the same will work for you.

Well I pwned it the day before yesterday then shut down the Mac then it was yesturday I was doing all that stuff so that counts as a reboot, dont it? I think I will give up for now, anyway...
