Hello, Everyone:

I have not been here since January of 2007 so hello once again. I just picked up my new IMac from the store and am trying to learn the new stuff. MacForums was actually recommended to me by an Apple tech who I was talking to earlier by phone.

I have searched, without success, to find a way to actually make my scroll bars not only visible but also darker in color cuz, at age 67, they sure as hell are not visible to me unless I hug the screen.

You can make them always visible. Go to system preferences, then go to general, and under scrolling options check "always." Unfortunately, to my knowledge there is no way to make them darker.

Thanks but as I said, they are visible but only if I kiss my machine. LOL.

I have now found workarounds for Firefox and Safari to darken them and add colors. So far, so good.

I searched for "change scroll bar colors" and found what I needed. Firefox is now a nice shade of aqua. Safari is graphite but it works for me.
