Hi all,

I am not new to the mac world but I am new to the forum even if I have been following it for a while now.

Anyway, I installed ML on my late 2011 MBP yesterday and today I noticed that when scrolling in long pages, the scolling will be normal at first but will than start to accelerate exponentially at each swipe I do untile I reach the bottom of the page. This happens using my magic mouse.

Do any of you encountered this issue? If so, do you know how to fix it or do you think that its a known enough issue that Apple will fix it in an update.

For those interested, my config is 2.4 GHz, 8GM ram, AMD 6770 and the stock 750GB HD.

Thanks a lot for you time and help

Pretty sure that's intentional.

Finally, Apple has added iOS-style accelerated scrolling to Mountain Lion. The first three swipes on the trackpad scroll as they did in Lion, but on the fourth swipe, the distance traveled within the document greatly increases. This magnified ratio of finger movement to scrolling distance continues as long as the user keeps swiping repeatedly.

its been like that a while. Long before ML...it's always annoyed me.

fixing it

Is there any way to bring this back to the way it was in lion that anyone would know?

Yes it is. Scroll using safari on Facebook and you Will notice the acceleration effect. Anyway to revert it back anyone ?

No, i notice it too. I had it side-by-side on Lion and the GM Mountain Lion... The scrolling is definitely off on ML. It speed up WAY too much after about 4 flicks... something that did NOT happen in Lion.

It most certainly is not the same as Lion. It is causing me massive headaches that when programming. Scrolling worked perfectly in Lion, there's absolutely no reason to not have an option to disable this, I hope something gets figured out soon.

Yes.

This is also ****ing the hell out of me.

Option to turn it off is required.
