Looking around the interwebs, I came across what I'd consider a really good deal for an older model Polaroid film/slide scanner. This particular model generally gets positive reviews and compares favorably to its newer competion(Nikon Coolscans and the like), but is an order of magnitude less expensive than any of the newer offerings.
The only potential hurdle is that it is SCSI-and I'm guessing that's probably also the reason for the low price these seem to universally bring. Doing some further searching, I can do even better on price on this particular scanner as well as get negative carries with it. So, for $30-40, I'm pretty well sold on at least giving it a try.
The same site where I initially found the scanner also has several SCSI cards for sale, but all are specifically stated to NOT work in PCI-X G5s(which is what I have). I could use the scanner with my G4, but would really prefer to use it with the G5 for several reasons(namely the software on the computer, such as 3rd party scanner software that will drive this scanner).
Can anyone point me to a make and model of SCSI card that will work in a PCI-X Powermac G5 7,2?
Thanks!
