sd card import on mac mini?

hi

I'm trying to figure out how to get some sort of adapter for sd cards to import video and audio and pics onto my mac mini. The way I do it now is by putting the sd card into the slot on my asus pc then export it onto external hd, then import it into my mac mini... not sure how other mac users do it
