What SD recovery software do people reccommend?

I have seen loads when searching, but do they actually work?

Or is my data lost forever?

As you say, there are many to choose from. Most of them have a trial version you can test with but require payment before they will recover anything. Why not try some to see?

Just an update:

1st I tried https://recoverit.wondershare.com/, purchased the full version, recovered the files they just won’t play lol

Good job they offer a 7 day return policy #phew

Then tried recuva, same result

I have learnt a important lesson, backup everything from now
