I've seen several people ask why they should upgrade from the MB to the MBP. One reason that always pops up is that the MBP has a slot for SD Cards.

I'm unfamiliar with SD Cards ... What are the advantages of SD Cards? Why use them over USB FlashDrives?

SD cards are for many cameras.

ExpressCard slot is better, you can put many things there, including an SD reader.

The 15" MBPs were downgraded.

SD cards are Secure Digital flash drives (like a USB thumb drive) but are typically smaller and work well with handheld devices. There are also micro SD cards that many smart phones (like Android Phones) use for additional memory. They're about 1/3 the size of a SD card.

i have a micro SD card in my phone so for me whenever i want to transfer pictures videos or add music i just pop it in the adapter and throw it in the SD slot on my 13" MBP.

My Sony Micro Vault USB drive is smaller than an SD card.
It is bigger than a microSD card.
