I'm thinking on a purchase, yes a digital camcorder.

If anyone out there in this cruel and infinate world is reading this please give me your opinion. Oh, and the make and model would be nice too.

PS: Budget of 315 Pounds, $400, 400€

I'm not on the hunt for HD, but clear and crisp video would be nice and I've already marked out my budget

You seem to be getting confused SD = Standard Definition video. MiniDV is a physical method of transporting video (it can handle SD and HD video). So I assume you are looking for a cheap SD camcorder that uses miniDV tapes?

Or do you mean a SD card as in a flash memory chip. I am not sure if many pure video cameras actually have SD cards but for the most part if you are going to be editing the video on your mac, a MiniDV camera will be the best thing to go for at the moment.

Also as far as the type of camera, a Cannon Elura may do the trick.
