SD/USB Suitable for Bootcamp?

I need to install Windows and would prefer to do it though Bootcamp.

I am wondering if there is a USB or SSD fast enough to install it to that device, if it is even possible at all? .. Rather than take up space on my MacBooks hard drive.

If it is possible, any suggestions?

Boot Camp only supports installation to an internal hard drive.

You can install Windows 8 or higher onto an external drive but it's more involved than simply using Bootcamp.

Any thunderbolt or USB3 drive should be fast enough. USB2 will be too slow.
