Out of the clear blue sky, my SE2 has quit charging on the Belkin Boost Charge stand ("Only at Apple" special edition). I picked it up off the charger, and was surprised to see it showing 40% battery. Thinking I hadn't set it fully in place against the charger surface, I put it back, but no charge.

Unplugged the charger and plugged it back in, the green light on the front came on for a moment and then back off. Put the phone back on, no charge.

Plugged it in with Lightning and it charged fine overnight and was at 100% when I unplugged it earlier... The charger is less than a year old, the phone only a little over a year, ordered when my 7's battery started to pillow. I don't have access to another Qi-capable device to try the charger with. Charger should be within a one year warranty and the phone has AppleCare+, but how do I identify if the phone or the charger is the culprit?

It's been on 15.5 since 15.5 released, and was perfectly fine until now.

Apparently Google was right that it can sometimes just be a random freak glitch, and restarting the phone will fix it. Updated to 15.6 and as soon as it completed the restart from the update, it's back working.
